Title: Harry Potter: Made for Each Other
Summary: During the Battle for Hogwarts, Lucius Malfoy discovers that he has found his veela soulmate. When no one comes for him, he knows he will die in Azkaban without them, but then he is saved by the most unlikely of people: Harry Potter. The two of them must learn about each other and see behind the masks of what the wizarding world sees, while also adjusting to being veela. In the meantime, Molly and Ginny Weasley are struggling to come to terms with the fact that Harry will not be a Weasley, even going so far as to kidnap him. After dealing with the Weasley women, Harry learns that his life will never be normal and also what it means to have a family.
Opinion: A guilty pleasure fanfiction, this story is actually well handled. There is a lot of explicit sexual contact from three separate couples, as well as a lot of sweet moments as well. The relationship between Harry and Lucius is slightly underdeveloped at the beginning, but expands as the fanfiction evolves. Their explanation is that as soulmates, Harry and Lucius would have less fights and fit together easier. Pregnant Harry was amusing, but perhaps not all accurate as some of the symptoms of pregnancy seemed to be overblown. Overall the story was less about action and drama and more about life after the war itself.
Length: 390.801 words
Pairings: Lucius Malfoy/Harry Potter, Draco Malfoy/Twins, Severus Snape/Remus Lupin/Sirius Black
Warnings: explicit gay sex, veela, mpreg
Summary: When Harry and the trio go back to school after the fall of Voldemort, he decides to turn a new leaf and become friends with Draco Malfoy. This leads to Harry learning that he is homosexual and has a serious crush on Lucius Malfoy. In the background, Molly Weasley is discovered to be suffering from a major mental illness that she has been stifling with an illegal, highly dangerous potion. It causes her to attack her family, leading to some very difficult situations. When Harry learns that Lucius loves him as well, they must learn what it means to be a family, very quickly. All the while, all of the Gryffindors are discovering what its like to find their Slytherin.
Opinion: This fanfiction seems to be a compilation of every crack relationship with little to no build up. The writing is inconsistent and often contradicts itself in the middle of a paragraph. The most memorable was that a character withdrew his Ebony wand, and then stated that it was Cherry. There were a lot of name mixups in crucial points that made it hard to follow what was going on. The storyline with Molly was actually well developed, but it needed a little more lead-up as well. The over exaggeration of how pregnancy hormones work as well was very off-putting and honestly seemed a little demeaning. The storyline just seemed to move too fast to make any sense; everyone was getting married and having children far too quickly.
Length: 429.340 words
Pairings: Lucius Malfoy/Harry Potter, Draco Malfoy/Bill Weasley, Hermione Granger/Fred Weasley, Neville Longbottom/Ron Weasley, Remus Lupin/Severus Snape
Warnings: smutty, male pregnancy
Summary: After Severus founds out that Harry is homosexual in a very dangerous situation, he takes it upon himself to teach Harry about the complex community of homosexual wizards. As those with these “predilections” are not highly looked upon, they have created codes to show preferences in partners to make sure that only they understand what is going on. As Harry is still in school, he enlists the Weasley twins to introduce Harry to the physical aspects of a homosexual relationship, during which they find out that Harry is dangerously submissive. As they try to train him to keep control, while discovering what he enjoys, Harry knows that he plans on wooing Snape in the end with the idea of permanence going forward.
Opinion: The relationship building in this rather smutty fanfiction was very well handled and grew at a pace that made sense. The coding system made sense and the innuendos throughout the entire story were very clever and funny for both the reader and the characters. The sex scenes, while numerous, never got boring or repetitive. The backlash from Dumbledore was very unexpected and added another level that I didn’t expect. The defeat of Voldemort was very anti-climactic at the end; this being the only downside to the entire story. It felt like Voldemort just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
